Lab Write Up Instructions Mitosis/Meiosis
Intro: Distinguish between functions of mitosis and meiosis.
Include chart that compares stages of mitosis to meiosis.
Hypotheses:
one regarding amount of time spent in stages of mitosis -whatever you think that will be
two regarding % crossovers you might anticipate in Sordaria
(later we'll discuss reasons for crossover rates-for now remember how crossovers happen-do they
occur 100% of the time based on your understanding of crossovers?)
Method:
counting and how numbers calculated
Results
2 charts showing counts and calculations
Conclusions
refer to hypotheses: in your opinion, why does cell spend most time in interphase?
Why in the next longest stage?
In your opinion, why do crossovers occur less than 50% of the time?
This is chart I want to see in introduction-you fill in blanks. S1, G1 same for both
